What it actually means in the 21st century. "We can't do the big wedding". "We want to get married, but we just want our witnesses and us." Can even mean, "it's no one’s business but ours!".

Keeping it simple

A big wedding isn’t for everyone, nor does it need to be. To keep it really simple, it can just be me, the both of you and your witnesses.

But how do we elope, you might ask? Get in touch with me, and I’ll sort everything for you.

It costs $365 at the Birth, Deaths and Marriage office in Adelaide’s CBD.

You can also only get married at BDM from Monday to Friday between the hours of 1.15 pm & 3.30 pm and when COVID hasn’t closed them down.
